The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will implement nine projects to help provinces in the Mekong Delta deal with climate change.

​The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in conjunction with the World Bank, held a seminar to launch a project on phasing out Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) – ozone-depleting substances – in the 2013-15 period.

​​Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a master plan for drainage and wastewater treatment development in residential areas and industrial zones in the Nhue-Day river basin through 2030, which provides for 24 new sewage treatment plants to be constructed.

​​An international seminar to seek ways to cope with natural disasters in the context of climate change in Asian cities took place in Quy Nhon city, the central province of Binh Dinh on May 9.

​​In the morning of April 18th, Ministry of Natural resources and Environment (Vietnam Environment Administration) held the consulting workshop for the Draft Decision by the Prime Minister on approving the Plan on thoroughly handling establishments causing serious environmental pollution till 2020.
