The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has submitted the draft of the National Tiger Conservation Programme by 2022 to the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has drafted a new circular regulating types of waste that can be imported to Viet Nam for treatment and disposal.

The Prime Minister has approved targets for the National Programme for Rural Water Supplies and Sanitation during the 2012-15 period.

Việt Nam is on the path to shifting its growth model to a green one to realize its goal of restructuring the economy toward being more efficient, competent as well as being capable of cutting greenhouse emission and responding to climate change.

Being one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, Việt Nam has suffered an annual loss that makes up about 1.5% of its GDP due to natural disasters. Over 10 years (2001 - 2010), more than 9,500 people were killed by tropical storms, landslides, land erosions, flood, droughts and saline intrusion.
