Japan, China and South Korea pledged a variety of environmental co-operation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations at a meeting of ASEAN + 3 senior officials in Ha Noi yesterday.

The meeting of senior ASEAN officials plus China , Japan and the Republic of Korea (ASEAN+3) on the environment opened in Hanoi on August 6.

More than 100 delegates from ASEAN countries and their six dialogue partners are gathering in Hanoi for the 21st ASEAN Senior Officials on the Environment (ASOEN) conference which opened on August 4.

The fourth ASEAN-Japan dialogue on environmental co-operation opened in Ha Noi on yesterday as part of the 21st meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on the Environment (ASOEN).

 

Deputy Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Dato Misran Karmain has stressed on the need to improve awareness of biodiversity-related values and the significance to preserve the values among ASEAN residents.

The 28th ASEAN Senior Officials of Energy Meeting (SOME 28) opened in Vietnam’s central highlands resort town of Da Lat Monday focusing on energy and climate change challenges.

 

The President of the 21st meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on the Environment (ASOEN-21) has stressed that climate change, ASEAN’s big challenge, is likely to have huge impact on regional socio-economic development.
