In the meeting, participants reviewed the implementation of their joint projects and proposed new co-operative programmes, including developing environmentally-sustainable cities in ASEAN member countries.
They also discussed how to improve management capacity in order to ensure the sustainable preservation of biodiversity as part of a project approved by the Japanese government on July 7, 2010.
The annual ASOEN meetings review co-operative activities in the region and discuss orientations and measures to deal with environmental issues in the region and globally, as well as assess the introduction and application of new commitments.
